Mayfield Motel

Mayfield Motel is an early 1960s budget motel with the old-fashioned style that was available when motels were new to Australia. Their neon signs - much photographed and renowned as being American Route 66 style - will guide the way. It is a ground-level motel with parking at your door - the perfect stop for guests visiting the Hunter and Port Stephens regions or those just passing through.

Rooms are a similar size with various layouts to suit one to four guests. All have an en suite shower room, television, small fridge, kettle and microwave for your basic needs.

Mayfield Motel is set back from the highway on its own service road. The motel rooms sit behind treed parkland with seating areas and pool. A variety of birds call the parkland home.

Within a 10-30 minute drive are several amazing beaches, Newcastle harbour foreshore, great shopping, the largest sand dunes in the southern hemisphere and the largest coastal salt water lake in Australia – all with great activities. Less than an hour away are the wineries of the Hunter Valley, Morpeth historic village, or the beautiful Port Stephens area.

Transport-wise, Mayfield Motel is a 20-minute drive from Newcastle Airport, two hours north of Sydney, two hours south of Taree, just over three hours from Tamworth and around four hours from Gunnedah or Dubbo.
