Situated in the bustling CBD, the university’s Newcastle City campus offers a range of venues including the landmark building NeW Space, which is ideal for training, workshops or small meetings. The Conservatorium of Music, Northumberland House and University House have been recently refurbished and make for unique event locations.
Spaces:
The Great Hall main area features flat floor and tiered seating, is fully air-conditioned and provides a large stage that can accommodate a full symphony orchestra. The total seating capacity of the hall is 1,230 which includes 448 tiered seats and 782 removable seats. The space is flexible and can be arranged in a variety of settings for your event including formal dinners, theatre, music, charity events, formals, and exhibitions.
Brennan and McLarty Rooms: Located in the Shortland Building, the Brennan room is a carpeted space that comes with round tables and seating for 200 along with dual screens and projector and microphones. The McLarty Room adjoins this space and can be separated if needed with a removable wall. McLarty Room itself can also be divided (if needed) to host the breakout room in the smaller end and the expo in the larger end. The nearby Derkenne Courtyard could also be utilised for expo needs or morning/afternoon tea breaks.
