Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club has just recently completed a renovation on the site, creating four new function spaces, tailoring guests from 10 to 250 people, or 400 standing guests. The Club was named Australian Sailing's Club of the Year for 2022, the first sailing club to ever win twice. Our dedicated catering team won the 2022 ClubsNSW Perfect Plate award for the Hunter region with their Barramundi dish. Executive chef, Luke Carpenter, has created a calm atmosphere in the kitchen that delivers excellence every day.
We have five rooms available, each with unique characteristics to suit your need.
The Trophy Room
Perfect for meetings, either half or full day up to 12 people.
The Bridge
The spot for formal dinners from 10 to 35 people, ranging from a 3-course meal, to a 7-course degustation with paired wines. Alternatively, you can utilise this space for formal meetings, holding up to 35 people.
The Retreat
Offers a balcony view over the harbour with a baby grand piano for that soothing cocktail setting. Catering for up to 70 people, this space can be booked in conjuction with the Bridge for the perfect breakout room. The Retreat can be for sit down dinners up to 50 people.
The Foredeck
A casual space with an 85" TV, perfect for relaxing by the water with your coworkers or family. With doors that open onto the deck, allowing for up to 40 people, or you can extend to the grassed area, for 80 people.
The Regatta Room
Our most versatile room includes a stage and dancefloor, and a dropdown projector. This room has sweeping views of the harbour, and a private deck with grass landing. This space is perfect for sit down dinners of 60 to 150 people, or 220 cocktail.
The Whole Club
The entire bottom floor is available for your function, which encompases the Regatta Room and Foredeck, and can cater 250 sit down, or 400 cocktail style. Our Regatta Room with stage has a presentation camera that links with all the TVs in the venue, allowing every guest to see a presentation without delay.
