Blackbutt Reserve provides nature trails, wildlife exhibits, childrens playgrounds and recreational facilities. It is the perfect place for a relaxing family picnic or to explore the wonders of nature.
Consisting of Eucalypt Forests and pockets of significant remnant vegetation, Blackbutt boasts a restored Rainforest providing habitats for a number of rare and vulnerable species. It also features wildlife exhibits which are modern, spacious and allow close viewing of the animals.
The Reserve also offers a range of recreation opportunities including barbeques, playgrounds, picnic facilities, photography, bird watching and peaceful areas for relaxation. Blackbutt has over 16 kilometres of tracks providing the ideal location for enthusiastic walkers, joggers and other fitness enthusiasts. Tracks range from short and gentle to long and hilly.
Wildlife Exhibits open 9am to 5pm every day (Except Christmas Day, Good Friday and after 1pm Anzac Day).
Picnic and recreation facilities open from:
7am to 5pm EST (Eastern Standard Time)
or
7am to 7pm DST (Daylight Saving Time periods)
Entry is FREE But there are parking meters in the Carnley Avenue and Richley Reserve carparks. The fee is $4 per day.
Public Koala Encounters are held at 2pm each day for a fee of $3.50 per person.
